“Mother Teresa: Mirror of Bourgeois Guilt by Vinay Prashad (1997) argues that Mother Theresa represented “a global enterprise for the alleviation of bourgeois guilt” and did not adequately challenges the forces that create poverty in our world. Prashad maintains that Mother Theresa glorified the state of poverty and the poor, ultimately viewing the poor with entrenched condescension. Prashad shows hoe Mother Theresa capitulated to her benefactors in order to place her work into the larger framework of big government/economics running the world.
